Children books, and the great classics in particular, serves an important factor in developing rich linguistic skills, creative imagination and abstract thinking among children. Hearing those stories in one's mother tongue is essential for development as well as building the connection to one's own culture. For the past two years we put up a special program of Tigrinya story time (the Eritrean language). The world's classic children books are translated to Tigrinya and twice a week Unitaf children get to hear them in their mother tongue.
